Lauren Pitts

Lauren Denise Pitts continues to embrace the importance of life long learning being a key ingredient to success, productivity and contribution. Lauren is committed to the methodology implemented by the Search Institute which is to “be a part of the unified voice embracing many strategies that can change the environment with and for our young people.” Lauren is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Education (EdD) program in Educational Leadership & Management with an Educational Administration concentration at Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA). Lauren is also a 2013 graduate of Drexel University where she earned a Master of Family Therapy degree. While enrolled in the MFT program, Lauren was awarded the Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions/Couple and Family Therapy Department Ivan Boszomenyi-Nagy, M.D. Social Justice and Clinical Excellence Awards, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/ Health Resources and Services Administration scholarship.

For over twenty years Lauren has been passionate about addressing the injustices plaguing vulnerable families for the purpose of equipping family members with the developmental assets necessary to promote family resilience. Lauren believes the stressors which create challenges within the family system can be combated by getting back to the basics of family values.
